The Madeira New Year’s Eve Fireworks display is world-famous and was declared to be the world’s largest display by the Guinness Book of World Records on December 31. During the 2006/7 season, Macedos helped Madeira break the world record for the largest fireworks display.

A large number of cruise ships, as well as boats, form a long line along the length of the harbor to witness this spectacular display. A presentation lasting eight to ten minutes is estimated to cost significantly more than one million Euros, according to estimates. The best vantage point from which to view the fireworks display in Funchal’s amphitheater, which is launched from approximately thirty different points, is from the sea.

There are three VMT catamarans that go out for the fireworks display on new year´s eve. “Sea the Best”, “Sea Nature” and “Sea Pleasure”. With bar facilities and toilets, onboard these boats are ideal to go out and see the fireworks display in Funchal.

The sea provides the best vantage point for viewing the Madeira New Year’s Eve fireworks display. From the deck of one of our boats, you’ll have the best view of the entire coordinated display.

Due to the high demand for tickets, you must make your reservation well in advance. Tickets typically sell out about two weeks to three weeks before the event.
