During the hike, you will see a variety of flora and fauna unique to the island. Look out for rare and endemic plant species. Such as Madeira Firethorn, Ivy-Leaved Cyclamen, and the Madeira Blueberry. You should also get to see the Madeiran wall lizard and a variety of birds.
This walk is not suitable for those with mobility issues or very young children. We recommend you wear appropriate footwear and bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. You can definitely expect some steep cliffs along a portion of the Vereda do Larano. It may sound scary for those afraid of heights, but you will never feel unsafe during the hike with our expert guide leading you. The path is wide enough for a few people to walk next to each other, and there are even railings along the trail where it does seem a bit more dangerous.
As the Larano Cliffs Walk comes to an end, we will take you to one of the best local bars in the area. Here, you can enjoy a cold drink and a light meal.
